The Marshall County Marshals returned to the hardwood last week for a pre-Christmas tournament in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

In game one, the Marshals emerged victorious, defeating Choctawhatchee (FL) 56-47.

Junior guard Cole Mills led the team in scoring with 21 points while junior Colby Schroader added 15 and Quinn Smith finished with 12.

In game two action, the Marshals were bested by Huntsville (AL), 57-52.

Marshall County spread out the scoring in this narrow defeat as Wade Moore led with a team-high 12 points, Mills added 11 and Smith had 10.

In the final game of the week, the Marshals faced a familiar foe Choctawhatchee (FL) in a rematch of game one.

Despite a hard fought effort, Marshall came up short, falling 56-47.

The Marshals are now 5-4 on the season and will look to add one more “W” to the win column on Tuesday, Dec. 28, as they take on Taylor County in the Campbellsville High School Holiday Classic.
