Marshall County soccer teams will kickoff Second District tournament action today (Tuesday) to play winners of Monday’s opening quarterfinals.
Due to a Monday morning deadline, quarterfinal results will be posted on the Tribune-Courier social media accounts.
In girls’ play Monday, Mayfield (3-18, 0-8 in district) were to face Calloway County (9-11, 2-6) for the chance to play the Lady Marshals today at 5 p.m. at Calloway County’s Jim Nix Soccer Field. The winner of today’s semifinal will advance to Thursday’s championship.
Wednesday will feature the other semifinal between Graves County (13-4-1, 6-2) and Murray High (8-8-2, 4-4).
Marshall County’s girls are 17-3 and 8-0 in the Second District.
On the boys’ side, Monday’s quarters pitted Mayfield (9-10, 2-6) against Graves County (8-10-1, 0-8) with the winner playing the Marshals (15-2-2, 8-0) at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The winner will also advance to the championship match on Thursday at Calloway County.
The Lakers (13-4, 6-2) will square off against Murray (12-8-1, 4-4) Wednesday in the other semifinal for the chance to play in Thursday’s title match, as well.
