With the combination of beautiful weather and the social distancing mandate of Governor Andy Beshear, Marshall County residents are taking advantage of all the area has to offer. The governor has requested that all areas that offer people the opportunity to gather are allowed to remain open as long as people continue to maintain The requested distance between individuals to prevent the potential spread of COVID19.
Calvert City Country Club Golf Course is open for individual golfers to enjoy the home course of the 2019 KHSAA Region One Champions Marshall County Marshals. Golfers can no longer enter the Pro Shop. A check-in station is now located in the doorway for the convenience of all golfers. Individuals are allowed to bring their own carts and ride as individuals. No carts or rollers are able to be rented.
Families and individuals are also able to benefit from the beauty of the area on the many trails and water accesses while still maintaining the recommended safe distance between others. Paved trails can be found across Kentucky Dam and the Eggners Ferry Bridge, as well as countless paths for hiking and biking throughout the region.
With this time of year also comes the hum of boat motors and the lone fisherman on the bank. Both can still be found in the Marshall County area.
Whether walking, riding, fishing, or boating, the Kentucky Lake Region has much to offer its residents at a time of creative exercise, family time, and social distancing.
