MCHS to host full week

The Lady Marshals faced Muhlenberg County in a scrimmage last week. Cayson Conner returns to the court as a sophomore for the 2019-2020 season. Conner ended last season with 78 rebounds, 21 three-point shots, and a total 356 point for the Lady Marshals. The ladies are set to host Goreville Tuesday night.

DRAFFENVILLE -- Marshall County is gearing up for their first full week of basketball action for the 2019-2020 season.

The Marshals kicked off this season with a match-up against Dawson Springs Monday, December 2. This was a first-time meeting of these two teams. No scores were available at the time of printing.

The Lady Marshals will host Goreville, Ill. tonight on the newly named Howard Beth Court.

Both the Marshals and Lady Marshals are on the MCHS Hoopfest schedule for this upcoming weekend.

MCHS boys are scheduled to face Madisonville-North Hopkins on Friday, the second night of Hoopfest and are back on the schedule Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Marshals will face Russellville Thursday evening and will be back on the court Saturday at noon to play Anna-Jonesboro.

NEXT WEEK: The Marshals will face Carlisle County at home next Tuesday evening. The boys played the Comets last season in Bardwell and took a 68-56 win.

Marshall County will host McCracken County next Friday, December 13 for a double-header.

The boys fell twice to the Mustangs last season in hard fought battles that went the way of McCracken in the final quarter.

The ladies took two wins over the Lady Mustangs last year during regular season action before their third win in the region one match-up at Murray State University. The Lady Marshals took the McCracken County out of the tournament in the first round in a 61-43 victory.

The Marshals will compete in the Memphis vs. The World Shoot-out on Saturday while the Lady Marshals will travel to Carterville, Ill. next Saturday evening to face the Lady Lions.
