PADUCAH -- The sun was shining but the air was cool for the McCracken County Invitational last Saturday. Both Marshall County and Christian Fellowship sent runners to the event.
Marshall County boys took first place overall with runners finishing in third, fourth, seventh, eighth, and twelfth.
Mason Cosner crossed in third place with a time of 16:47.1 followed by Ethan McCarty in fourth. McCarty finished 15 seconds behind Cosner with a time of 17:02.3.
Jackson Miller and Christian Cosner also crossed the line together. Miller finished just .2 seconds before Cosner, Miller in seventh with 17:24.3 and Cosner in eighth with 17:24.5.
Cade Flatt was the fifth Marshal to cross for the team score. Flatt ran a time of 17:47.2 for twelfth place.
The Lady Marshals took third place in the girls' race.
Gabbi Lovett finished first for Marshall County, fourth overall, with a time of 21:55.9. Kayce Kemp took the second Lady Marshall spot and sixth overall with a time of 22:14.4. Zoie Swope finished third for Marshall County, crossing the line at 23:05, Emma Smith at 24:04.9, and Alexia Minter at 24:36.7.
Christian Fellowship ran their best times this season. Mikey Bivin finished with a time of 20:15.6. Boaz Burnett finished with 20:47.9. Isaac Hovekamp had a time of 22:54.1, and Morgan Wright had 27:45.1.
NEXT WEEK: Marshall County High School will be hosting the regional meet again this year Saturday, October 26.
