SMITHLAND -- The Eagles of Christian Fellowship passed up their season win record last week and headed to Livingston Central with a seven-game winning streak but found the Cardinals a formidable foe to adding to that streak. CFS took the first and fourth quarters but failed to come back from a nine-point deficit, falling to the Cardinals 49-54.
The Cardinals took an early lead with the Eagles grabbing a late first quarter lead and holding it just into the second quarter. The two teams were within one point at the half. Livingston Central took the necessary lead in the third and held on to it to take the win at the final buzzer.
Freshman guard Andrew Dunning once again played a strong game for the Eagles, earning 10 points and almost a third of the team's rebounds with nine. He went 4/4 from the free throw line.
