DRAFFENVILLE -- Marshall County High School senior Ty "Bucky" Buchmeier spent his high school career playing on both sides of the football finishing with 1,412 total yards of offense and 146 career tackles. He has chosen to pursue the defensive side and to commit Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky. while pursuing a degree in business.
Buchmeier has been a member of the MCHS football team for four years. This allowed him the ability to excel as both an offensive and defensive player. As a three-year starter, he saw action as a receiver, running back, and quarterback as well as secondary and outside linebacker. He was named to the 2018 and 2019 All-WKC teams as honorable mention.
As a senior, Buchmeier earned 288 rushing yards and 190 receiving yards. He earned 32 points for the Marshals in three rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns. Buchmeier was credited with 42 tackles on defense. He grabbed one interception his last season in the Marshals' opening game against Ballard County which he ran for 32 yards.
Buchmeier said that he is looking forward to this next level of competition, to see how far he can go with it, and to see how much better he can get.
Buchmeier is the son of Harold and Robin Buchmeier.
