A host of talented athletes lined the blue track at Marshall County High School on Tuesday, as 11 teams competed for the title of KHSAA Class 3A Region One champions, and with so many excellent performances, the scoring was tight. The Lady Marshals walked away champions, collecting only two more points than runner-up Apollo, and the Marshals were runner-up, dethroned by McCracken County in a close battle.
In the 400 meter dash, Presley Gallimore earned third with a 1:01.30 race.
In the 800 meter run, Jessica Reed took third with a time of 2:33.38.
In the 3200 meter run, Addison Lyles placed first with a 11:44.20 run.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Rylee Thompson came in fourth with a race time of 16.65.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Libby Stewart took sixth with a 54.59 run.
In the 4x100 meter relay, the Lady Marshals placed first with a 50.35 final.
In the 4x200 meter relay, the Lady Marshals placed second with a race time 1:48.75.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the Lady Marshals took first with a 4:17.36 race.
In the 4x800 meter relay, the Lady Marshals earned second with a 10:22.13 run time.
In the high jump, Delaney Miller came in sixth with a 4-06 jump.
In the pole vault, Izzy Washburn placed first with a 9-00 vault and Madison Edwards came in fifth with a 6-06 vault.
In the long jump, Thompson finished first with a 16-10.5 jump and Georgia Hall came in fifth with 14-00 jump.
In the triple jump, Thompson took second with a 34-06.5 jump.
In the shot put, Phoebe Ramsey earned fourth with a throw of 33-03 and Bailey Allred came in sixth with a 32-09.75 throw.
In the discus, Allred took second with a 106-08 throw and Hall came in sixth with a 98-07 throw.
In the 100 meter dash, Zander Maxlow took sixth with a 11.28 run.
In the 400 meter dash, Preston Lamb came in sixth with a 52.98 time.
In the 800 meter run, Ethan McCarty placed first with a race time of 2:00.81.
In the 3200 meter run, Kobey Yates took third with a 9:56.86 race.
In the 110 meter hurdles, Alexander Holman came in sixth with a 17.02 race time.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Hayden Gray came in fifth with a 44.28 time and Jeremy Jaco came in sixth with a 44.51 finish.
In the 4x100 meter relay, the Marshals came in second with a 43.64 race time.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the Marshals took second with a 3:29.08 finish.
In the high jump, Holman placed third with a 6-00 jump.
In the pole vault, Jack Johnson took third with a 13-00 vault and Stephen Claborn came in sixth with a 9-00 vault.
In the long jump, Holman took third with a 21-01.50 jump and Aiden Dunigan came in fourth with a 20-06.50 jump.
In the triple jump, Holman placed second with a 42-02.50 jump and Dunigan came in fourth with a 39-10.75 jump.
In the shot put, Deegan Croley took second with a 45-05 throw and Joey Colley earned fourth with a 42-07 throw.
In the discus, Croley placed second with a throw of 140-05.
And with so many ranked performances, many of these athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the KHSAA State Track and Field Championships at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Complex on June 1-3.
