Marshall County ended its 2020 regular girls soccer season on a 3-1 win over Madisonville-North Hopkins last Thursday and will take the field in postseason action Wednesday against Calloway County in round two of the Second District tournament.

On Oct. 8, the Lady Marshals spent 40 minutes in battle to be the first on the board in the season’s final game at Colburn Stadium. After a scoreless first half, Madisonville’s Abigail Center slipped one past net minder Parker Perry for the only goal against Marshall.

Freshman Anna Robertson leveled the score with her first Lady Marshal goal, then Marshall took the lead on a Kallen Fuller kick to the back of the net. A shot by Kelsey Crass put the Lady Marshals up by 3-1 to end with their seventh win of the season.

Marshall County will be back in action tomorrow at Murray High for the Second District tournament against Calloway County. The two teams met earlier in the season with a 3-2 win going to Marshall County.

Murray met Mayfield Monday night; however no results were available by press time. Graves County is set to play the winner of that matchup tonight.

The championship game is set for Thursday, Oct. 15, at 5:30 p.m. at Murray.
