Howard, Allen set to keep the momentum for CFS basketball - photo

Andrew Allen will take the court for the Eagles this season as the only senior. Last season, he led the team in scoring and free throws. The Eagles finished 18-11 for 2019-20 and have 30 games scheduled for the 2020-21 season.

Christian Fellowship set new standards for basketball last season as the Lady Eagles added 15 wins and the Eagles 18 with a seven-game winning streak. With restrictions and guidelines still yet to be determined for the 2020-2021 basketball season, CFS is in pursuit of another exciting season.

The Lady Eagles are still playing with a young team. However, it is the same record-setting players on this year’s roster, with another year of basketball and confidence under the belt, still under the leadership of Coach Trevor Jackson.

As an eighth grader last season, Gracie Howard led the team with 458 points. Her varsity career began as a seventh grader where she added 337 points, a total 795 points in two seasons for the young athlete.

This year, the Eagles will be led by the single senior Andrew Allen. Andrew Dunning, Isaac Hovekamp, and Luke Grigg are all returning to the varsity roster along with some new faces and rising junior varsity players. Coach Tyler Ryan’s team has a strong junior class with Allen and the sophomore Dunning to help lead with scoring as last season’s top scorers.

CFS will start their season on the road with doubleheaders, first at Dawson Springs on Nov. 23 and then to Fulton City on Nov. 24. On Dec. 1, the Lady Eagles will host the Lady Cardinals of Mayfield while the Eagles will end their travel streak at Crittenden County.

The Lady Eagles and Eagles will open their season at home with a Fulton County matchup on Dec. 4. They will be back on the road Dec. 5 to Gleason, Tenn.

The Eagles are set to host Fort Campbell December 8 before heading back on the road Dec. 11 with the Lady Eagles for a double-header at Fulton County. The following day, Dec. 12, they are scheduled for a matchup with Community Christian Academy in Paducah.

The Eagles will head to Hickman County Dec.14, but they will return home to play a double-header with the Lady Eagles against Ballard Memorial on December 15.

Both teams will be competing in Christmas Classics the weekend before Christmas. The Eagles will be in Trigg County at the KME Christmas Classic. The Lady Eagles will be in Paducah at Community Christian Academy.

Christian Fellowship will be back in a double-header matchup with Ballard Memorial after Christmas, this time on the home court of the Bombers to end out 2020. They will start off 2021 in Mayfield at the Region One All “A” Classic.

CFS is schedule to host three double-headers the first full week of the new year. Monday, Jan. 4, CFS will host Todd County Central. Fulton City comes in on Tuesday, and Thursday, it’s a matchup with St. Mary.

The Eagles will head to Graves County on Jan. 9 and host Thomas Nelson Jan. 15. The Lady Eagles will face St. Mary again on Jan. 14 in Paducah before both teams meet back in Briensburg to host Livingston Central.

It’s a home game for the Eagles Jan. 23 against Gleason and Jan. 25 with Hickman County. The Lady Eagles head to Mayfield Jan. 26. The two teams are back at home Jan. 30 to host Community Christian of Paducah.

They will start February off at home with a double-header with Dawson Springs Feb. 1, final home game of the season. Feb. 5 — 6, both teams will be competing in Danville at the DCA Warriors Classic.

CFS will send their schedule on back to back double-headers on the road. Feb. 12, the teams will head to Fort Campbell. Feb. 13, they will close their schedule on a double-header in Livingston County.
