Volunteers to help with Medicare Part D open enrollment

  • 1 min to read

MAYFIELD — A team of volunteers throughout the Purchase area will be assisting with questions regarding Medicare Part D. They are gearing up for the annual open enrollment of Part D which begins Oct. 15, 2020 and runs through Dec. 7, 2020. This is the time of year when Medicare beneficiaries have the option to switch their current prescription drug plan to a new prescription plan, with coverage beginning in January, 2021.

Volunteers will help with annual reviews for prescription plans that will be tailored to meet individual needs. This could lead to a monthly savings on prescription cost, allowing for additional income for other monthly expenses. Due to COVID-19 they are unable to conduct in-person interviews, but the staff will be assisting beneficiaries via phone and email.
