Sue Dexter Newton, 69 of Gilbertsville, passed away Monday, April 20, at her home.

Born Saturday, April 29, 1950 in Gilbertsville, she was the daughter of the late James G. Dexter and Margaret (Martin) Dexter. She was a homemaker, mother and worked as a volunteer with the McCracken County Rape Crisis Center as a court advocate. She was a member of Gilbertsville First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Jimmy Newton; her daughter, Shana Green, husband, Bruce, of Kuttawa; brother, James G. “Jimmy” Dexter of Gilbertsville; grandchildren, Ashley Renfro, husband, Michael, of Fort Drum, New York, Trisha Hugenroth, husband, Jake, of Austin, Texas, and Nathan Green, fiancee’, Autumn Odom, of Kuttawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In compliance with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the CDC’s health and public safety directives, the funeral services for Mrs. Newton will be private. Burial will take place in the Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Darrell Walker will officiate.
