Benton resident Clayton Ray Mullins appeared in federal court via video teleconference on Sept. 23 for a status hearing. Mullins has multiple charges against him in connection to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol building.
He is accused of assaulting a Washington Metropolisoin Police officer by dragging him down the stairs. He has pleaded not guilty to three felony charges and five misdemeanors.
In July a judged denied Mullins’ request to be released from home detention. He is currently only allowed to leave his house. He is allowed to leave his house only for work, religious services or medical appointments.
Mullins’ next status hearing is scheduled for Nov. 22.
