The area surrounding a home at 111 East 21st Street in Benton was swarming with law enforcement Jan. 22 as the Marshall County Special Response Tactical Team (SRT), detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) and officers with the Benton Police Department conducted the search of a property which resulted in two arrests linked to methamphetamine trafficking.

According to the citation authored by MCSO Detective Donald Bowman, the law enforcement agencies served a search warrant at the home of Samuel "Lance" Fieldson, 47, during which he and Donna Blades, 52, of Ledbetter, were detained. After hearing their Miranda warning and confirming they understood, Fieldson allegedly admitted to trafficking methamphetamine, using methamphetamine and also to selling methamphetamine to Blades prior to law enforcement arrival.

Law enforcement also reported recovering methamphetamine from Blades while Fieldson revealed where more drugs and drug paraphernalia were hidden in the residence. Officers recovered approximately seven grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, containers of suboxone and Xanax, a suboxone strip, oxycodone and two used pipes with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Fieldson was charged with drug paraphernalia (buy/possess), possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree (drug unspecified), possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified) and trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine). Blades was charged with drug paraphernalia (buy/possess), possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine) and trafficking in controlled substance 3rd degree, 1st offense. Both were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
