Former Benton Police Chief service celebrated

The City of Benton and Mayor Rita Dotson (left) wished a final farewell to former Benton Police Chief Jeromy Hicks on Sept. 30 with a retirement reception at City Hall. After serving 23 years in law enforcement, 21 of which he served with the Benton Police Dept., Hicks has started a new career selling insurance for Woodmen Life in Benton.

Hicks said, "Thank you to everyone who put up with me for 21 years and allowing me to do what I love. I've really enjoyed it. It's been rewarding and fulfilling, but it's time to move on and try something different."
