Calvert City will host its annual fireworks display on Saturday, two months later than usual because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The show is usually part of the city’s annual Fourth of July Ameribration celebration. The display will take place during the Labor Day weekend after canceling the Ameribration event in July.
The drive-in style fireworks show will begin at dusk on Kentucky Lake. They will be launched from the north end of the lake and will be visible from the banks of the lake or by boat.
Spectators should remain in or around their vehicles and practice social distancing. The city asks that large groups be avoided and reminds those attending to wear a mask.
“We’re excited to host the Labor Day fireworks show. This will be the first time Calvert City’s fireworks will be displayed from Kentucky Lake, and we expect everyone to follow the guidelines of social distancing and wearing masks,” said Calvert City Mayor Lynn Jones.
