Following a 19-minute discussion Monday night, Calvert City Council seemed persuaded to adopt Marshall County’s 92-page, five-year solid waste disposal plan. However, City Attorney Greg Northcutt said he couldn’t recommend a plan neither he nor council members had read.

Jeremy Perrin prompted the discussion when he asked the council to pass a resolution adopting the county’s 109 solid waste disposal document. “Every five years I update the solid waste plan for the county,” he said. “I know you are not in our 109 taxing district but you still fall under our solid waste plan geographically.”
