PICKIN ON A SOLDIER'S HEART

September 6 gate opens at 5 p.m. Show begins at 6 p.m.

September 7 gate opens at 11 a.m. Show begins at 12 p.m.

This event will take place at the Kenlake State Park amphitheater. Food vendors will be on site to fill your bellies, and live music will be flowing. Grab your lawn chairs and some friends and head toward the lake for this awesome event. A $10 donation is requested at the entry gate. Proceeds will be used to fund retreats for veterans who suffer from combat-related PTSD.

LONE STAR RODEO

September 6-7

5 p.m.

Lone Star Rodeo is a family-run affair that produces more than 40 events per year in 13 states. The event will be held at Carson Park in Paducah, and will benefit Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center. There will be food from local vendors, live music, mechanical bull rides, a beer garden, kids events and more. Rodeo events include saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, calf roping, cowgirls breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding and barrel racing.

BENTON CRUISE-IN

September 7

4 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The Benton Partnership, City of Benton, and Kentucky Lake CVB are proud to present the Annual Benton Cruise-In. Since 2014, these organizations have hosted multiple car shows in Benton. Each show is held at the Benton Court Square. There will also be live music, and the 50/50 raffle as well. Kids activities include big wheel races, along with a coloring contest, and more.

CADIZ CRUZ-IN

September 7

5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Gear up for the Cadiz Cruz-In. This event is held the first Saturday of the Season (through September) in historic downtown Cadiz on Main Street. OPEN CLASS, cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome. Free entry with dash plaques for the first 75 to register. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Free music by the Tim Lynch Band. D's BBQ will have food available for purchase.

WARRIOR CHALLENGE

September 7

10 a.m. Team Wave

Join in the second annual Warrior Challenge at Lake Barkley obstacle course race in support of Operation Enduring Warrior. The race will consist of various types of military-style obstacles throughout the course. Awards in the elite division will be presented to the top three male and female finishers. Finishers t-shirts and medals will be awarded to all participants.

KENLAKE'S BANDS ON THE BALCONY

September 13

7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Bands on the Balcony live music series will feature a different up-and-coming band or artist each month. Come out and enjoy a great night of music. The event is free, but there will be a cash bar with drink and appetizer specials. This months featured performer is The Drunken Poets.

KENLAKE CRUSE-IN

September 28

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Metal Mafia C.C. presents a Benefit Car, Motorcycle, Tractor & Off Road Show with great door prizes, live entertainment from Kalib Swift & Friends, great food, a pie and dessert auction, J. Deez Pinstriping, drawings, free water from Aaron's and so much more. Registration is $10 and ends at noon. Judging and awards by area auto part and paint suppliers.

Someone has been sending threatening letters to Tucker Stumpp, head of the Stumpp Family Singers. The entire family, including nephews Flint (the hunk) and Eugene (the dweeb), and the twins, Doreen and Mae Rue, come under suspicion. The bodyguard, Patrick J., joins the local police to try to find the killer. You won't want to miss this! All proceeds will benefit Friends of Land Between the Lakes.
