Mrs. Sarah Lois Thompson, 100 of Benton, passed away Friday, August 22 at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Benton.

She was born Wednesday, December 17, 1913, in Marshall County. She was the daughter of the late H. Bert Smith and the late Nellie (Kelley) Smith.

She was a homemaker and was a faithful member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Dick, husband Rob of Benton, daughter-in-law, Norma J. Thompson of Benton, two brothers, Junior Smith of Benton and Clovis Smith of Benton, two grandchildren, Janice Claud, husband Ken of Murray, Robyn Littlejohn, husband Jeremy of Benton and two great grandchildren, Emily Littlejohn and Andrew Littlejohn both of Benton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, Marshall Headley Thompson, her son, Harold Paul Thompson, three brothers, Buran Smith, Sherman Smith and Rollie Smith, two sisters, Esther Fisk and Hontus McGregor.

Funeral services wereheld Monday, August 25 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Bro. Jimmy Seaford and Bro. Jason Sharp officiated. Interment followed the service in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Benton.
