Ruby Haney Wenzel, 87, of Paducah passed away at 6:10 p.m. at Baptist Health of Paducah.

Mrs. Wenzel was a homemaker and loved cooking for her family and friends. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul’s and Martha’s Vineyard. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Gayle Grief and husband Marvin of Gilbertsville and Jacqueline Christine Simpson and husband Rick of Kernersville, North Carolina and one son Larry Daniel Wenzel and wife Joyce of Gilbertsville and a son-in-law Frank May of Summerfield, Florida. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Richard, Paul and David Wenzel, Elizabeth Thompson, Jim May, Amy McGee, Jenna George ,Will Simpson and 11 great- grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers Kenneth Haney of Tucson, Arizona and James Haney of Goreville, Illinios.

Mrs. Wenzel was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Edgar Wenzel and a daughter Ellen Ann May and parents, Elijah and Alpha Hayes Haney. She was predeceased by two sisters Donna Sue Buchanan and Betty Williams and four brothers Howard, Roy, Billy Joe and Gary Haney.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 8 at 12 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Rev. Brian Roby officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
