Grace Marie Forte of Benton found her way to the arms of Jesus on July 31, her 58th birthday. In life we find our names give us meaning. And, her name was exactly how she lived ... with pure grace. As a mother, an artist, and philanthropist. She truly lived her life for others.

Serving others was a message she showed through her life. Whether serving food with Marcella’s Kitchen (an organization very much a part of her heart), sharing the message of Jesus, attending Pathway Baptist Church, extending the hands of grace with a women’s prison ministry. Grace fulfilled her purpose in being a missionary. Everywhere she set her foot was a mission field. Her smile and laughter filled a room. When you heard “dar’ling,” you knew a smile would soon arrive. Art was a true passion of Grace, and no matter what she touched, she created beauty. At the end of day, the center of her life was her children and grandchildren. The mention of their names lit her face with love and pride.

Grace is survived by her daughter Erin Forte and sons, Kyle, Matthew, and Nicholas Forte, step-daughter, Anna Spicer; her grandchildren, Isabella, Nathaniel, and Aiden Froehling; her brothers, Donald and Michael Hickey; and her two sisters, Carin Williams and Jean Magrella. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Elizabeth Hickey and her grandson, Patrick Eli Froehling.

A funeral mass was held Monday, August 4 at 11 a.m. at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 5645 Blandville Rd., Paducah, KY. Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiated.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you make a donation to Marcella’s Kitchen, 242 Griggstown Rd., Benton, KY 42025. May you choose to live your life to serve others by living with grace.
