James Edward Midyett, 87, of Paducah passed away at 11:05 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Baptist Health Paducah.

He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ. He was a drug sales representative until his retirement with L.S. Dubois. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lucy Nell Bell Midyett; one son, Gary Midyett and his wife Vonda of Paducah; one daughter, Marsha Green and her husband Richard of Benton; four grandchildren, Ryan Midyett and his wife Niki of Paducah; Robyn Ince and her husband Bill of Smyrna, Tennessee; Miranda Wood and her husband Ryan of Paducah and Michael Green and his wife Kelssie of Benton; four great grandchildren, Morgan Midyett, Sydnie Midyett, Ethan Wood and Mason Green.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. His parents were William Midyett and Myrtle Lamb Midyett.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Broadway Church of Christ. Dan Owen and Andy Claussen officiated. Burial followed in the Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
