MARION, Illinois – The Calvert City Orange Waves swim team completed its summer season in a recent meet against seven teams from the Southern Illinois Swim League.

Team scores were not available in the “swim your age” meet.

Top performances by Orange Wave swimmers included first-place finishes by Paul Hudson, who won the 17-year-old boys 50-meter breaststroke event with a time of 37.90 seconds, and Isaac Bayer, who won the 15-year-old boys 50-meter backstroke in 435.75 seconds.

Bayer also placed third in 50-meter freestyle and butterfly.

Emelia Andersson was third in four events for 16-year-old girls, including 50-meter free, 50-meter back, 50-meter breast and 50-meter fly.

Caleb Pahl took second in three events for 10-year-old boys, including 25-meter free, 25-meter back and 25-meter breast.

Jacob Rushing had a trio of third-place finishes in boys 14-year-old 50-meter free, 50-meter back and 50-meter fly.

Other medal finishes included Evelyn Riley, second in girls 6-year-old 25-meter free, and Ethan Delaney, third in boys 12-year-old 50-meter fly.
