Walter Lee “Butch” Wilke, 68, of Gilbertsville passed away at 3:30 a.m. Monday, June 9 at his home.

Mr. Wilke retired from the United States Air Force having served 20 years. Once he retired with 18 years of service for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, he returned to his home state of Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith Lee Swallow Wilke; two sons, Warren Lee Wilke of Lebanon, Tennessee and Jeffrey Lee Wilke of Ft. Lewis ,Washington; five grandchildren, Dillon Stark of Ft. Cambell; Tyler Wilke of Kinross, Michigan; Emily Wilke of Clarksville, Tennessee; Luke Wilke of White House, Tennessee and Liam Wilke of Lebanon, Tennessee; one brother, Robert Wilke of Henderson and two sisters, Kathy Gentry of Baytown, Texas and Sue Fellman of Baytown, Texas.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Herb Wilke and one sister, Ann Leskojvan. His parents were William W. Wilke and Cora E. Kimble Wilke.

Memorial services were held at 4:30p.m.Saturday, June 14 at Benton Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Mike Wilford officiated. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
