Students at Marshall County High School walked across the stage to receive diplomas for the 40th year Friday night. In all 249 seniors attended commencement ceremonies in Reed Conder Gymnasium.
Dustin Thomas Cox is valedictorian of the 2014 class. Salutatory honors are shared by Sarah Keeling and Grant Wood Park.
Cox is the son of Clark and Tammy Cox. He received the Grawemeyer Scholarship and plans to attend the University of Louisville, majoring in physics.
Beck is the daughter of Jeffrey and Anne Beck. She plans to attend Vanderbilt University, majoring in elementary education and child development.
Park is the son of Kelly and Kelly Park. He is the recipient of the Governors Scholars Award, Hafer Swimming Scholarship and the Westlake Engineering Scholarship. He plans to major in bioengineering at the University of Louisville.
Fourteen students graduated this year from Christian Fellowship School. The 2014 valedictorian is Leiren Jackson, with salutatory honors going to Soo Bin Kim.
Jackson is the daughter of Chris and Lori Freeland and Dean Jackson. Jackson has been a member of the Marshall County Youth Theater and was a member of the BETA club, DECA, German Club, Student Council and Bible Club. She plans to attend Northern Kentucky University and major in musical theater.
Kim is the daughter of Yoon Ho Kim and Eun Sil Lee. She was an exchange student, hosted by Tony and Dana Derrington. Kim plans to attend the University of Kentucky.
