James C. Rose, 94 of Benton died on Tuesday, April 22, at his home in Benton.

He was retired from the Pipefitters Local 184 and a 50 year member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II.

He was born Thursday, February 5, 1920 in Mystic.He was the son of the late Lee Rose and the late Lilly Ann (Eskridge) Rose.

He is survived by his sons: Ralph Rose, wife Linda of Benton and James “Eddie” Rose, wife Brenda of Lewisport, daughter, Brenda Wynn, husband Larry of Madisonville, sisters, Mable Boernson of Danville, Ill. and Violet Parker of Troy, Ind.; grandchildren: Crystal Rose, Carl Rose, Jason Wynn, Jana Wynn Williamson, Alison Rose Sumner, Brent Rose, several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his wife: Margaret (Bland) Rose; infant son: Gary Lee Rose; step-son: Ernest Horn; brothers: Ralph Lewis Rose, Woodrow Wilson Rose and Charles Earl Rose; sisters: Etta May Smoots, Elizabeth Allen and Margaret Smith.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton.

Rev. Ron Melton and Rev. Brad White officiated.

Interment followed in the Calvert City Cemetery.
