She was born Wednesday, March 27, 1929 in Searcy, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Luther Anderson Fitch and the late Mary Magdalene (Ellis) Fitch. She was a wife and mother and was retired from M and G Transportation where she worked as a towboat cook, also in her later years, she worked as a sitter.
She is survived by four daughters, Sandra K. Allen of Benton, Charlotte Marie Allen of Hardin, Barbara Jean Bailey of Benton and Tamela York of Benton, four sisters, Polly Henson of Benton, Violet Sanders of Paris, Tenn., Anna Belle Whitthorne of Springfield, Ill. and Joyce Palazzolo of Baldwin, Mo. Seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, Eddie Allen, by one son, Charles Wayne Allen, one daughter, Judy Carol Mullen, one grandson, Jason Don Borders, two brothers, Charlie Fitch and George Fitch, four sisters, Ruth Foster, Thelma Gates, Nellie McCord and Florence Bradshaw.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Charles Simmons officiated. Interment followed the service in the Bevil Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
