A large crowd came out to sample a variety of dishes at Marshall County High School on Saturday for the event called Empty Bowls.

This is the third year for the event that serves as the largest fund raiser each year for Marcella’s Kitchen.

Restaurants and community groups donated the food. Keepsake bowls decorated by community members served as the vessels for the feast. Empty Bowls serves as a reminder that there are people in Marshall County and beyond who go to bed hungry on a daily basis.

Marcella’s Kitchen serves thousands of meals each year to help those in need. They raised more than $13,000 in Saturday’s event and Marcella Perkins said that money will go a long way to continue providing hot meals for the hungry in Marshall County.
