Mrs. Thelma (Johnson) Burkeen, 87, of Hardin passed away at 7:45 a.m. Friday, February 21 at her home.

He was born Sunday, November 28, 1926 in Marshall County. She was the daughter of the late Hallie W. Johnson and the late Lola (Jones) Johnson. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and her dogs and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edison Burkeen of Hardin, one son, Dennis Burkeen, wife Shirley of Hardin, one grandson, Cory Burkeen, wife Kristin of Nashville, Tenn., one great grandchild, Teagan Burkeen of Nashville, Tenn., one brother, Howard Johnson of Benton and one sister, Mary Redding of Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Johnson and two sisters, Majorie Hopkins and Velma Baker.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 23 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Brian Hayes officiated. Interment followed the service in the Unity Cemetery, Hardin.
