Mr. Joe Lee McGregor, 85, of Benton passed away Saturday, February 1 at Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benton.

He was born Friday, July 20, 1928 in Marshall County. He was the son of the late Daniel and the late Pearl (Carper) McGregor. He grew up in the Oak Level community of Marshall County. He retired after 37 years of service with ISP Chemical Company in Calvert City. He was a 50 year member of the T.L. Jefferson Lodge 622 F and AM in Benton. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Benton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Melodean (Rose) McGregor of Benton, four children; Linda Edwards, husband Russell of Benton, Danny Story, wife Chris of Benton, Melanie Scharmahorn, husband Joe of Benton, Lisa Stone, husband Roger of Dothan, Ala., one brother, Bobby D. McGregor of Peoria, Ill., 11 grandchildren; Rusty Edwards, Rodney Edwards and Richie Edwards all of Benton, Bridget Moryl of Benton, Ashley Jones of Benton, Kinsey Scharmahorn of Benton, Roni Stallins of Princeton, Jansen Melton of Wartburg, Tenn., Chad Edwards of Nashville, Tenn., Emily McKenzie of Karns, Tenn., and Kaleb Scharmahorn of Ormond Beach, Fla. and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 4 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Don Wilson will officiate.

Interment with military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps and American Legion Post 236 will follow in the Benton Cemetery.
