The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is reporting a single vehicle crash on U.S. Hwy. 68 East near Briensburg this afternoon that injured Marshall County football coach Ron Barnard. Barnard was traveling westbound on 68 when he left the roadway and struck a tree.

The accident happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. today between the entrance of Forgotten Past and Moors Camp Highway.

Barnard was driving a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck. The vehicle was on its top and had to be uprighted by emergency personnel.

Barnard was transported to Marshall County Hospital and later airlifted to an Evansville, Ind., hospital by Air Evac Medical. We currently have no information on his condition.

The crash is being investigated by Deputy Cory Curtner of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.
