Randle “Randy” Irvan Darnell, 83, of Benton died on Tuesday, December 24, at his residence.

He was born Wednesday, September 17, 1930 in Marshall County.

He worked as a road grader for the Marshall County Road Dept. and was a veteran of the United States Army having fought in the Korean War.

Mr. Darnell is survived by his wife Carol Ann Darnell; two sons William Darnell, La Grange, Ind. and Randy Darnell, Ferndale, Mich.; two daughters, Martha Jean Darnell, Roseville, Mich. and Wanda Murphy, Quincy, Mich.; two brothers Roy Darnell, Benton and Glenn Darnell, Evansville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Darnell was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. His parents were the late Garland and Martha Canup Darnell.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday December 26 at Marshall Co. Memory Gardens. Rev. Charlie Canup officiated. Burial followed in Marshall County Memory Gardens.

Arrangements were handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton.
