Mr. Theodore Richard Higgins, 82, of Aurora died Sunday, December 15 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray. He was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church. Mr. Higgins honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict where he received the Bronze Star Medal.

He was the son of the late Alfred Higgins and the late Ella (Hannah) Higgins.

He is survived by one daughter: Ruth Higgins of Newport, Mich.; three sons: David Higgins of Benton, Richard Higgins of Fort Worth, Texas, and Daniel Higgins of Newport, Mich.; two sisters: Barbara Kennedy and Joan Hurst both of Mich.; one brother: Howard Higgins of Fla.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Helen (Johnston) Higgins; one son: Russell Higgins; four brothers: Gene, Bert, “Bob” Robert, and Buster Higgins; and one sister: Betty O’Hallarin.

Arrangements were handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Dewey Dick officiated.

Interment with military honors followed in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens in Benton.
