Andrea Wagers, 21, and Shannon Boss, 22, of Benton, have been released on separate $10,000 surety bonds to family members. The couple is accused of abuse of their 2-month-old infant son.

Under the terms of the release, they may have no contact with each other or the baby, who is in the custody of relatives.

Boss was released on bond on Dec. 12 and Wagers was released on Dec. 18.

The couple appeared separately in Marshall County District Court last Wednesday for a preliminary hearing in which Wagers began the process of being released on bond.

The two will reappear in district court for another hearing on Jan. 8.

Wagers and Boss were arrested on Nov. 21, following an investigation by Kentucky State Police and the Marshall County Department of Community Based Services.

According to the citation, the initial report to the KSP by the DCDS was made following the infant’s pediatrician noting bruises and possible fractures on the child.

After the child was located at an area hospital, KSP made the arrests in Murray.
