Mr. Shropshire was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army and was employed by Universal Environmental Services until 2010, which ended his 30 plus year career in the oil refining industry.
He was born December 7th, 1952 in Rock Island Illinois, he relocated and made his home in Aurora after traveling to many places. He was a member at Hopewell Baptist Church in Kuttawa and also a member of the Marshall County VFW and Marshall County Elks Lodge.
He was a beloved father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Mr. Shropshire is survived by his son: Brandon Shropshire of Benton, two daughters: Brandi Shropshire of Paducah, and Julie Irby of Hampton, Ill. Ten grandchildren: Braden Davis of Hampton, Ill., Montgomery Scott of Aurora, Madison Scott of Camden, Tenn., Christopher Vaughn, Jr. of Paducah, Alexis Shropshire of Jeff City, Mo., Timothy Giraldo-Reyes of Paducah, Lilly Hernandez of Grand Rivers, Nicolas D. Giraldo-Reyes of Paducah, Carson Shropshire of Benton and Noah Shropshire of Aurora; one brother: Russ Shropshire of Rock Island, Ill. and four sisters: Joyce Holder of Bakersfield, Cali.. Elaine Lampley of Sterling, Colo., Roxanne Ayala of Texas, and Janice.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Opal Maxine Carter Shropshire and Russell F. Shropshire.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m.Sunday, December 15 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home and Crematory. Bro. Mike Farmer officiated.
