Donald Ray Kronmiller, 71, of Carmi, Ill., died Sunday, December 8, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He was born April 19, 1942, in Carmi, the son of Donald Kenneth Kronmiller and Blanche (Moye) Kronmiller. He was married to Ericca (Thompson) Kronmiller, and she survives.

Don was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi, a graduate of Carmi Township High School and was valedictorian of his class from Gradwohl School of Laboratory Techniques in St. Louis, Mo. He was a medical laboratory technician, and later, in the electronic department for Walmart in Carmi.

He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mysteries and studying the Bible. His favorite sports team was the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his wife, Ericca Kronmiller of Carmi; daughters Kristen (Bob) Hickling of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kamille (Ken) Gauntt of Savannah, Georgia; brother Dennis (Kathy) Kronmiller of Carmi; brother in law Ron Thompson of Abbeville, Louisiana; uncle Chester Kronmiller of Belphrie, Ohio; grandchildren Andrew Hickling, Katie Hickling, Wesley Hickling, Kaleb Gauntt, Keegan Gauntt; four nieces; two nephews; four great nieces; and two great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Blanche Kronmiller.

Burial was held Thursday, December 12 in Benton Cemetery in Benton.

Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi was in charge of arrangements.
