For many decades, Patsy and late husband Thomas Forrest were professors at Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to that, Patsy taught at Vanderbilt University and Murray State University. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, Tenn. She kept close ties with relatives and friends in western Kentucky, Frankfort KY, Tennessee, and Alabama, especially enjoying Wilkins Family Reunions, visits with childhood friends, and her granddaughters’ activities. Ever a selfless person, Patsy so often helped family and friends in times of need.
Besides her parents and husband, Patsy was preceded in death by her brother Harold Wilkins and his wife Martha and nephew Kyle Wilkins.
Patsy is survived by her beloved children and their spouses, Howard and Kelly Forrest, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; Anne and Tod Collier, Madison, Ala., and granddaughters Margaret and Lucy Collier, who brought such joy to Patsy’s life. She is also survived by three brothers and wives: Jim and Scotty Wilkins of Dawsonville, GA, Phillip and Suzanne Wilkins, Gary and Angela Wilkins, all of Frankfort. Other survivors include her aunt Maxine Bohannon, Benton, many nieces, nephews, and cousins in several states.
Funeral services were held Monday December 2, 2013 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Patsy N.
