Opal Dodd, 85, of Paducah died Sunday, November 24 at 7:30 a.m. at her residence. Opal was a member of Salt and Light Community Church of God. She was a native of Winston County, Ala. and retired from Paducah City Schools working in food service and served as manager of D.T. Cooper Elementary School. She enjoyed crocheting for the children’s ministry at her church and had a keen interest in children and talking to them. She was also a retired beautician.

She is survived by: one daughter, Gwenda Alexander and husband, Larry; two sons, Max Dodd and wife, Brenda, Mark Dodd and wife, Brenda all of Paducah; five grandchildren, Tony Dodd and wife, Tina of Calvert City, Alissa Gannaway and husband Rob of Loveland, Ohio, Dena Alexander of Paducah, Carrie Alexander of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and Daniel Dodd and wife, Gabrielle of Paducah; four great grandchildren, Libby Dodd, Molly Gannaway, Brad Long and wife Christina, Johnathon Long and wife, Britney.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Glover officiated. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
