Robert Howard, 88, of Benton, died Saturday, October 12, at his residence in Benton. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union # 816.

He was the son of the late Rotchie Howard and the late Esther (Parks) Howard. He is also preceded in death by three sisters: Julie Beth Sanders, Rebecca McGregor, and Mary Ann Howard and one son, Sammy Howard.

He is also survived by his wife: Laura (Pierce) Howard of Benton; daughter, Cynthia Ham of Benton and two grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home in Benton.

Funeral services will be held on October 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Thweatt & Bro. David Belcher officiating. Interment will be at Marshall Co. Memory Gardens in Benton.

The family asks memorial contributions be made to the Education Fund at New Bethel Baptist Church, C/O Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY 42025.
