The investigation by Attorney General Jack Conway’s office into alleged misconduct by County Judge Executive Mike Miller for the mishandling of unemployment benefits is underway.
According to Marshall County Attorney Jeff Edwards, Kentucky State Police Detective Michelle Kent has requested a number of documents from the county in the case and is nearing the completion of her investigation.
Edwards said as of now his office has not been contacted by Zac Greenwell, Commonwealth Attorney for the 5th District, who was appointed to investigate the charges by Conway.
“I believe at some point he (Greenwell) will want to conduct interviews of those involved, but as of now we have not been contacted,” said Edwards.
At issue in the case is the authorization of employment benefits to former dog warden Goldenrod Kirk.
Edwards turned over a report of special investigator Kent Wicker to Conway’s office in mid-August.
