Late Sunday afternoon Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies and Benton City Police responded to a call of possible shots fired at the residence of Justin Hanks at 698 Tubbs Road. On scene they discovered no shots had been fired but found several items that had been reported stolen from the Benton City Park’s concession stand on August 13. Items included a popcorn machine and food totaling $1559.00 – stolen during a break-in at the concession stand. Police obtained a search warrant of Hank’s home and discovered items that linked him to at least two other burglaries in the city and one in the county.

Police seized a truckload of items during their investigation. Items recovered included chain saws, power tools and electrical cords, most of which are not marked with serial numbers.

Hanks was arrested and charged with two counts of 3rd degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
