The 270 CrossFit Mud Madness Run for the Responders will roll through Marshall County this Saturday.
Organizers of the event are busy this week transforming the park into a challenging 5K course with over a dozen obstacles designed to get participants muddy along the way.
With obstacles like the great wall, ropes, trenches, pits, slides and more participants will end the course covered in mud and muck.
Organizers say you don’t have to be a star athlete to participate in the fun. Whether you are a thrill seeker or just a couch potato looking for fun way to spend your weekend, this challenge has something for everyone.
Registration for Mud Madness will begin Saturday morning at 7 a.m. The run begins at 9 a.m.
Each participant will receive a “Get Your Mud On” Run for the Responders T-shirt, free refreshments and entertainment.
Funds raised from the event will be used to honor the county’s law enforcement officials, firefighters, EMS staff and dispatchers for their efforts at this year’s annual Emergency Responder’s Dinner, being held in conjunction with Family Week, Friday Sept. 6 at the Kentucky Dam Village Convention Center.
Entry forms are available at 270 CrossFit, Country Chevrolet, the office at Mike Miller Park, GNC in Paducah and also online at http://beta.active.com/benton-ky/running/mud-madness-5k-mud-challenge-run-for-the-responders-2013.
