Stanley M. Turner, 62, of Gilbertsville passed away at 2:30a.m. Tuesday, August 13 at Marshall County Hospital.

He was a self-employed brick layer and a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith.

Stanley is survived by one daughter, Maggie Mae Turner, one son, Joshua David Turner; three sisters, Julia Givens and Maxine Myers both of Benton and Shirley Edwards of Gilbertsville; three brothers, John Lawrence Turner and Bruce Turner both of Gilbertsville, and Jack Turner of Benton; six nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Posey and Fran Gordon; and one nephew. His parents were Lawrence Hays Turner and Eura Mae Thompson Turner.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17 at the Marshall County Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Bro. Jack Studie officiated and internment will take place in the mausoleum. Military rites were conducted by the William A. Doyle Post #236 of the American Legion. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of all arrangements.
