Marshall man arrested on drug trafficking charges

(Suwannee, KY.) – While conducting a traffic safety checkpoint, Kentucky State Police and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department stopped William Mull, 34, of Marshall County at the intersection of U.S. 62 and State Route 810 South. Mull was only able to produce a Kentucky ID, when asked for an operator’s license. Officers learned that Mull’s operator license was currently suspended.

While questioning Mull about the suspended license officers detected an odor of marijuana. Mull was asked about the marijuana odor, at which point he handed Trooper Jonathan Ward a large pill bottle containing marijuana, hydrocodone and crystal meth. Mull was offered a standard field sobriety test and was determined to be under the influence of drugs.

A search of Mull’s vehicle produced a loaded handgun, digital scales and other paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking.

Mull was charged with operating on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/ alcohol .08 1st offense, trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces, trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd Degree- 1st offense drug unspecified, and trafficking in a controlled substance 1st Degree- 1st offense Methamphetamine.

Mull was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Jonathan Ward.
