Mrs. Spencer was a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah where she initiated the Women’s Ministry, taught Sunday School and Children’s Ministry, sang in the choir and was a Deacons wife. She was a secretary with Ohio Valley Supply Company, worked as a medical transcriptionist at Lourdes and Western Baptist Hospital, retired as head of Quality Assurance with Western Baptist Hospital, and was a member and past president of American Diabetes Association Paducah Chapter.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Heavrin and husband Larry of Calvert City and Edie Daugherty and husband Jay of Paducah; one son, David Hughes of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Larry Heavrin II and wife Liz, Scott Heavrin and wife Wendy, Ben Hughes and wife Alanna, Shannon Jarvis Puckett, Stacey Jarvis Scheer and husband Chris, Wheeler Hughes, Scott Daugherty and wife Allison; eleven great grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Matthew, Elle, Catie, Izzy, Abby, Malia, Danny, Landon and Eli.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy T. Hughes; second husband, Charles F. Spencer; and an infant sister and one brother, James Reeves. Her parents were, Lowell E. Reeves and Edith S. Bouland Reeves.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Tommy Tucker officiated. Burial followed in Maplelawn Park Cemetery
