Christopher “Chris” Wayne Bailey, 52, of Calvert City went to be with His Lord and Savior on June 28 at 2:34 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah following injuries sustained in a motorcycle collision.

He was born April 21, 1961, in Lexington. He is the son of the late Robert and Earlene Fields Bailey. He was a 1979 graduate of Marshall County High School and was the owner of Bailey Heating and Air in Calvert City.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years and high school sweetheart, Cindy McDowell Bailey; daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Dr. Ryan Beck of Springfield, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law Lacey and Thomas Baker of Benton; and two grandchildren, Paxton and Bailey Beck. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Linda Lacey; Mary “Shorty” Heikkinen, who was like a mother to him; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was a member and deacon at Pathway Baptist Church in Calvert City. Chris will be remembered as a devoted Christian, faithful husband, loving father, and doting “Gaga.” His quiet, gentle kindness, fierce loyalty, and love to family and friends were the qualities that defined this outstanding man. Matthew 25:21 “And the Lord replied, well done my good and faithful servant.”

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Pathway Baptist Church will Rev. Mike Donald officiating.
