Calvert City’s Post 236 Titans slipped to 2-9 with five losses in American Legion baseball action last week.
All but one of the games were on the road.
The team saw a win slip away on Tuesday at Henderson on a late-game home run, fell to District 1 kingpin Paducah Post 31 at home on Wednesday, lost a district game against Lyon County Post 68 at Eddyville Thursday and was outscored in a pair of high-scoring games on Saturday in Indiana.
A half-dozen games, all on the road, are on tap for this week, starting with a visit to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to play the SEMO Strokers at 6 p.m. today.
Thursday through Saturday, the Titans will play in the Bosse Field Tournament in Evansville, Ind.
The team returns home for a game at Mike Miller Park on Monday, July 1, against Henderson Post 40.

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. – In the second game of a high-scoring double-header, the Hoosier Express got three runs in the bottom of the seventh to overcome a 9-7 Titans lead.
The winning run came on a squeeze bunt with the bases loaded.
The final inning capped a back-and-forth game in which the teams traded the lead four times.
Calvert City trailed 7-6 after six innings, but scored three runs to take a two-run lead. Cody Gilbert was hit by a pitch and Coby Massey walked. Tanner Foster loaded the bases when his ground ball was misplayed and Aaron Armstrong drew a walk to drive in Gilbert and tie the game.
The Titans attempted a squeeze play, but Massey was out at home when Shubert Moffatt could not get the bunt down. Moffatt then singled and drove in Foster. Kalen Parker’s single made it a two-run lead when Armstrong came home.
The Titans got doubles from Massey and Armstrong and singles from Foster, Moffatt and Parker to plate three runs in the third and picked up two more runs in the fourth on singles by Massey, Foster and Armstrong.
Massey, who was 3-for-4 with two RBI, singled and scored in the sixth.
Foster was 3-for-5 with two RBI, Armstrong 2-for-4 with two RBI and Moffatt 2-for-5 with two RBI.

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. – A nine-run explosion by the Express was the difference in the opening game.
Both teams pounded a succession of pitchers and both defenses were sloppy, with a total a 22 hits and 10 errors.
Cody Gilbert had a triple, Shubert Moffatt two doubles and Kalen Parker a double for the Titans. Aaron Armstrong was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Moffatt 2-for-3 with an RBI and Parker 2-for-4 with an RBI for Calvert City.

EDDYVILLE – Lyon County’s Post 68 Aces avenged a defeat at the hands of Post 236 with a big win Thursday night at Eddyville.
Coby Massey scored three of the Titan runs, reaching base on a single, a walk and a hit by pitch. Caleb Stonecipher and Tanner Foster had doubles and each had an RBI. Foster and Tyler Ballard were 2-for-4.
Post 68 broke open a 2-2 game with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and outscored Calvert City 3-2 the rest of the way.
The Titans took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, loading the bases on three singles but netting only one run when Massey scored when Kalen Parker reached on an error.
After the Aces took a 2-1 lead in the second, Post 236 tied it with a two-out rally in the top of the fourth. Ballard singled and scored on a double by Caleb Stonecipher.
The Titans added single runs in the fifth and seventh.
Massey reached in the fifth when he was hit by a pitch from Lyon County’s Jonathan Rogers, stole second and advanced to third on Foster’s ground out. He scored on Aaron Armstrong’s ground ball to short.
Massey then walked, stole second and came home on Foster’s double to right.

DRAFFENVILLE – Post 31 built a 4-0 lead after three innings of scoreless baseball and went on to take the win over the Titans at Mike Miller Field Wednesday.
Cody Gilbert was 3-for-4 for Post 236.
Gilbert got the Titans’ only run when he singled to lead off the inning, then came home on an RBI single by Aaron Armstrong.
Both teams had eight base hits, but Paducah’s defense was stellar, turning two double plays to thwart the Titans’ efforts to score.
In the nightcap of a senior-junior double-header, Post 236 took a 9-8 victory.

HENDERSON – A sixth-inning home run by Tyler Roberts lifted the Henderson Rangers to a 4-3 victory over Post 236 June 18 at the Henderson County High School field.
Calvert City broke a four-inning scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the fifth. Leadoff batter Will Carr was hit by a pitch and Cody Gilbert walked.
Both advanced on Coby Massey’s sacrifice bunt. Tanner Foster’s single plated Carr and Aaron Armstrong’s single drove in Gilbert and sent Foster to third. B.J. Elder’s ground-out to first brought Foster in with the third run.
The Rangers cut the lead to a single run in the bottom of the frame, the run scoring on a two-out single by Ethan Meeler.
After the Titans went scoreless in the sixth, with one man on, Roberts then hit a 2-0 pitch out of the park to put the Rangers ahead.
Darby Hiser got two strikeouts and a ground ball to third to retire the Titans and close out the win.
Armstrong was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Calvert City.
The second game of a scheduled double-header was canceled because of lightning.
