Doug and Patty Coakley of Calvert City, celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 21.

They were married June 21, 1963, in Paducah, at Broadway Methodist Church by Rev. David M. Hilliard in the prayer chapel. Their attendants were Gay Williams of Paducah and Ned Bogie of Gilbertsville. The late Lynann Vaughn was her sister’s flower girl and the groom’s brother Walter Coakley was usher.

Mrs. Coakley is the daughter of the late Ralph and Burnell Vaughn of Paducah. She is retired from the Marshall County School District after teaching 27 years.

Mr. Coakley is the son of the late Jim and Margie Coakley of Gilbertsville. He is retired from Westlake in Calvert City.

They have two children, Karen (Coakley) and her husband Brett Long of North Salt Lake, Utah; and Price Coakley and his wife Rachael (Schneider) of Massac County, Ill.

They have eight grandchildren, Anthony, Brian, Hannah, and Isaac Long and Jessica, Lauren, Madalynn, and Elise Coakley.

Mr. and Mrs. Coakley celebrated their anniversary with their children and grandchildren in a private dinner June 22. They will also be giving each other a trip to Alaska in July.
