William “Cowboy” Caviness went home to be with the Lord, May 9.

Born June 25, 1951 in Delta Colorado, he had lived in Kentucky for 14 years and worked for Calloway County Road Department.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Caviness, Hardin; mother, Daisy Metsler, Grand Junction Colo.; son, Jason Caviness Fort Campbell; stepsons Joe Ed Smith, Buchanan Tenn., John Smith, Benson Ariz. and Jeremy Smith, Benton; siblings, Patty Urch Ariz., Lee Bowerman, Colo., Teddy Coe, Colo., Russ Caviness, Ky., Thelma Heth Colo., Terry Caviness Ariz. and Louise Johnston Colo.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louie Caviness; sister, Coral Louise Heth; brother, Danny Caviness and granddaughter Kayla Allen.
