Survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Hayden Martin of Paducah; a son, John (Tony) A. Martin and wife, Felicia of Sharpe, daughters Dionna Wurth and husband Wally of Paducah, Tina Farley and husband Jeff of Port Orange, Fla., and Sondra Holley and husband Mike of Sharpe; grandchildren Curt Willett of Texarkana, Ark., Shawn Baker and Martin Wurth both of Paducah, Sara Willett of Port Orange, Fla., Heather Holley and Jon Michael Martin and Nya Martin all of Sharpe; sisters Joette Calhoun and Betty McGregor and one brother, Ronald “Peanuts” Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Anna Pearl Martin; a sister, Vivian Cunningham ;and a brother, Darrell Butch Martin.
Johnny was the owner and operator of Johnny’s Body Shop. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the National Guard for nine years and spent one year of active duty stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., during the Berlin Crisis. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater. He was a generous and fun-loving man with a joke for everyone. Johnny especially wanted to thank all of his friends and customers for their loyalty and support through the years.
The funeral was Monday, May 6, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Lynn Jones officiated and burial was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Paducah.
